Seekers of the good life have always adored the Nordic states for their high quality of life. Scandinavian countries boast happiness, work-life balance, generous healthcare, good education, and of course – good looks. But being at the forefront of progressiveness requires a small concession that many Angelenos just can’t fathom: five months without the sun. That’s why 7th and Hill productions is teaming up with Goldenvoice and KCRW to bring a taste of Sweden to the City of Angels.

On October 15th, Stockholm, CA will fuse the best of Swedish culture with the best of American weather, transforming the Shrine into just another piece of Stockholm. With delicious food, lots of beer and performances by Swedish chart-toppers, it’s a festival that no Downtowner will want to miss.

Little Dragon and Icona Pop headline the impressive lineup of all-Swedish artists playing across two stages. Nine lesser-known artists, who have strong followings back home, will play as well. Festival organizers say that the mix of international pop-stars and lesser-known groups gives an authentic look at Sweden’s vibrant and diverse music scene. “It’s a cultural journey unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before,” the festival website boasts.

This one-of-a-kind festival will be the biggest Swedish cultural event in the United States. Nationwide, an estimated 4.5 million people are of Swedish descent, and 500,000 of them live in the mountains, valleys, and coastlines of California.

Stockholm, CA will make history on October 15th. Tickets are still available online at www.stockholm-ca.com
