The insider’s view of Downtown’s culture, food, drinks, and the people who shape it.

Explore DTLA, while drunk.

Explore DTLA, while drunk.

Hundreds of Downtowners will be crawling (or stumbling) their way through Downtown at the LA Craft BeerCrawl. The annual event returns for its 7th year this Saturday 2-7pm throughout seven locations in DTLA – Seven Grand, Casey’s, Cole’s Red Car Bar, Las Perlas, The Varnish, Golden Gopher, and Honeycutt. The idea is simple: grab a cup, choose from over 100 beers from 50 breweries, chug it, and move onto the next location. There will be sweat, hopefully no blood, and maybe some tears. We recommend starting at Casey’s, a reliable, non-fussy standard. Fill your cup with craft beer, sip it slowly and assess the crowd – these people will be your beer chugging comrades for the next few hours. Find a buddy and make your way towards Seven Grand for the next rounds of hoppy gold. Play some pool, make new friends, and by now conversations will be noticeably louder. Keep on chugging or walk towards Golden Gopher, one of the oldest bars in DTLA. Motor skills may prove to be challenging but that’s exactly how a proper beer crawl should be.

We’re giving away 2 tickets to LA Craft Beer Crawl, sign up for our newsletter and post a photo of the latest issue of LA Downtowner, use #LADTRgiveaway to enter.
